Theme: Maturation feels like a disease, the way that it kills parts of oneself to make room for new parts.
Aesthetics: The goal was to convey the emotion of each poem through graphics and to accent each section. A theme of traveling inside one's body is conveyed through blood-colors and textures. Long sections of blurriness aim to convey a sense of being inside one's delicate organ tissues and circulatory system.
Process: Both the poetry and illustrations were created at the same time. I primarily used the paintbrush tool, motion blur, and mosaic filter.
