Title: "Isn't It Lovely?"
Date: Winter 2000
Creation Time: About 30 minutes
Dimensions: Approximately 3cm X 2cm (1.2in X 0.7in)
Style: Point-of-view photo juxtaposition
Medium: Analog camera
Subject: My dog (bottom) and what she's looking at (top)
Theme: The depression of boredom
Aesthetics: The first frame is the view of my living room that my dog would stare into all day and the second frame is a head-on shot of my dog as she is staring. The two frames are unified by the three oppositely-colored dots in each frame. Also, the frames are canted in opposite directions to balance each other out. There is a line that can be followed leading from one frame to the next.
Process: I wasn't originally intending for these shots to be together during the photo shoot. It was after I laid everything out when I noticed how nicely these two images complemented each other. To get the grainy, depressed look, I scanned in the negatives on my computer and inverted the colors.
